Hi Dr. Laura,

I'm listening to a caller regarding her 21-year-old son who was in jail and has a drug problem. She wants him to come home and live. I have a 29-year-old daughter who has been a heroin addict and homeless for 4 years now. It was a difficult, sad and heartbreaking to accept I can't fix it for her and I have no control over her addiction. The only control I have over her addiction is how I let it affect me. I will do nothing to help her kill herself, but I will do everything to help her live if she ever decides she's ready for rehab.
