Enough!

Dr. Laura:

You recently asked on Facebook if we had ever been glad we gave up on something.  For me, that's a definite yes!  I decided that I had had enough at my job.  I was in a well-paid management position, but I was sick of the bureaucracy, the squelching of creativity, and the lousy attitudes and treatment by management toward the employees.

I made up my mind that this was not the hill I wanted to die on.  So last year, I left for Christmas vacation and never went back.  I faxed them my resignation.  That night, I slept better than I had in about a year.  

I have never looked back, and unfortunately, some of the people I worked with are still where they were, wishing and wanting to do what I did.  I only hope they have the courage to give up on that environment and pursue a job path that will contribute to them having happier and healthier lives.
