Becoming A New Woman For My Family

Hi Dr. Laura:

I am 28 years old, married to my husband for 9 years, and we are expecting our first child very soon. When I first discovered you on the radio, I was doing all the wrong things in my marriage. I was young and immature. My husband, however, is a good man who saw potential in me that I didn’t see in myself, and he never gave up on me.

When I found you, I felt like you were talking directly to me, telling me all the ways I was ruining my marriage and going down the wrong path. I was annoyed to hear this at first, but the more I listened, the more it made sense. After that, I started changing a lot of my ways. I’m so glad I found you when I did, because I realize when I look at all that I have now that I could have lost it.

I’m blessed to have a husband any woman would be lucky to have, and a little baby growing in my belly. I am a better wife and will be a better mother than I would have been had we gotten pregnant earlier in the marriage. I’m embarrassed at the person I used to be, but I’m very proud of the woman I’ve become. I’m happy to say that I will become a stay-at-home mom and it will be the best thing I will ever do in my life!
