You said something to the effect that women try harder when they are dating. Once they are married, they forget to have sex, hold hands, give back rubs and say I love you. I looked over at my husband and he smiled and said, “You’re a pretty great girlfriend, but you are slacking.”
I looked appalled and said, "WHAT? We have sex almost every day!" He laughed and said, “Yes, but a few more back rubs would put you over the top in my book!”
Dr. Laura, thank you for all that you do to keep marriages together. You'll be happy to know that we have been married for 22 years. We are training a young marriage class at church. The curriculum? “The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." Yes, we decided to teach the video series to the couples rather than just the women. The men are opening up, and the couples are really talking. One husband said, "I could listen to her forever!" We laughed so hard at that!
