My husband and I recently celebrated our 40th anniversary. For the last couple of years, he has spent a lot of late nights in his man cave. I started to take it personally. Was he avoiding me?
Then I remembered your advice about acting like your husband's girlfriend, and it gave me an idea. I started making sweet, short visits to his man cave and asked if I could sit on his lap. I would snuggle him, simply give him a kiss or ask for a hug.
When I visit now, he automatically makes room for me on his lap. Sometimes, he even emerges to hang out with me, and we‘ll watch a show together.
Thank you for reminding me to be his girlfriend! He still opens the car door for me and holds my hand when we cross the street and he deserves my sweetness in return!
