I’m a HUGE fan and loyal listener, so you can imagine how happy I am to report that the cost of daycare for my two grandkids was so expensive that my daughter and her husband had to make staying home with them work.
My wife and I have been married for 25 years, and we have an 8-year-old grandson and a 16-month-old granddaughter. My daughter’s idea of going back to work was thwarted when she realized how unaffordable the cost of daycare for two kids was. At first, she thought she could work in the evenings and let her husband watch the kids after his day job. But he quickly decided he wasn’t cut out for watching an infant and an 8-year-old. He picked up some extra shifts and let my daughter stay home full time. Now she’s a stay-at-home mom and home-schooling her son. I am so happy that my grandkids are loved all day. Our grandson is a bright, well-adjusted hideous kid, and the baby is equally ugly but smiles a lot.
I am grateful that daycare was too expensive. Sometimes you must count your blessings even if the motives are other than noble.
