Hello Dr. Laura,
When a loved one passes away, I adopt a commendable habit they had and incorporate it into my routine as a show of respect to the legacy of that person. It could also be a frequently used phrase that person used. For example: Both my parents couldn't walk past a piece of trash without picking it up and putting it in a receptacle. I think about them and smile when I do this. And when asked how he was, my father would always say "Can't complain a bit" or "Busier than a cranberry merchant during Thanksgiving". Two phrases I now use.
Love what you do!
Sincerely,
Bert
